KRT Business Values & Their Importance
Integrity
Doing the right thing consistently, even when unobserved, which builds trust.
Kent Resuscitation Training offers Resuscitation Council UK Accreditation to all of their Immediate Life Support courses.
Resuscitation Council UK offer a range of courses designed to train healthcare professionals and Instructors in best resuscitation practice across adult, paediatric and newborn life support.
By taking a Resuscitation Council UK course, you and your employer can be assured that you have the most up-to-date knowledge, and the confidence and practical skills to put that knowledge into action.
Our courses offer many additional benefits, such as CPD eligibility and an ability to use your skills in other countries, with many course certificates being recognised across the EU and in Australia.
Customer Focus
Prioritising the needs of clients to exceed their expectations.
At Kent Resuscitation Training we believe in a ‘supportive-first’ approach to resuscitation training.
Recognising that emergency situations are high-stress, our courses prioritise a low-stakes, high-impact learning experience. Using advanced simulation technology and tailored adult learning techniques, we foster a culture of curiosity and growth. Whether you are learning CPR for the first time or refreshing Immediate Life Support skills, our expert trainers are dedicated to guiding you with empathy and precision, building competence that saves lives and enhances patient care.
Collaboration
Fostering teamwork and open communication, often cited as a top corporate value.
Resuscitation training and teamwork scenarios focus on improving clinical outcomes by combining technical CPR skills with non-technical skills like leadership, communication, and situational awareness. The effective training model we offer utilises simulation-based education using high-fidelity manikins and standardised equipment to practice in a controlled environment. The core of these scenarios is to move beyond individual technical ability and foster a team approach to high-performance CPR and medical emergency management, reducing interruptions and improving team efficiency.
Key Components of Resuscitation Team Training if you book group sessions include-
- Structured Roles: Defining roles (e.g., leader, compressor, airway manager, medication administrator, recorder) ensures all tasks are covered and reduces chaos.
- Closed-Loop Communication: A vital technique where the leader gives an order, and the team member confirms completion (“airway is secured” or “Adrenaline given”).
- Team Leadership: A leader should stand back to maintain an oversight of the scenario, delegating tasks and managing the team’s emotional state.
- Debriefing: Short, structured sessions immediately after the scenario to discuss what went well, what could be improved, and team dynamics.
- Assertion & Information Sharing: Encouraging team members to speak up if they see an error (e.g., “We need to switch compressors”) or share vital information (e.g., “we are not achieving adequate chest rise”)
Innovation
Encouraging creativity and seeking better, more efficient ways of doing things.
Resuscitation training is rapidly evolving from traditional classroom lectures to high-fidelity, team-based simulation, with a focus on improving non-technical skills (NTS) like communication, leadership, and situational awareness. Key innovations Kent Resuscitation Training offer include in situ simulations. We can come to your working area and provide in-house team facilitated training. In this format we can offer interprofessional training elements with targeted learning outcomes that are pre-defined to meet the needs of the service. This allows for system improvements where we are able to identify hidden errors in equipment or protocols.
Accountability
Taking ownership of actions, decisions, and results.
Resuscitation training and accountability are critical components of patient safety, governed by standards that require regular, role-specific training and clear, documented responsibility for competency. Kent Resuscitation Training supports organisations to ensure all staff are trained in basic life support (BLS) and automated external defibrillator (AED) use, with higher-level training (ILS) for clinical staff. Accountability is maintained through appointed Resuscitation Council UK, training programmes and mandatory annual updates. These methods enable best practices by giving individual and organisational accountability, where competency and proficiency, professional conduct and scope of practice are maintained.
Sustainability/Responsibility
Committing to environmentally friendly and ethical practices.
The healthcare industry is in the business of savings lives, it is also a major contributor of the global carbon footprint. Kent Resuscitation Training is focused on reducing this impact by consciously collecting, analysing and monitoring its sustainability performance data of products and services. Following the data collected we have focused on the reduction of waste products, recycling whenever possible and increasing distances travelled on clean energy..
Diversity & Inclusion
Respecting different perspectives to foster a better working environment.
Resuscitation Council UK recognises the importance of diversity, both in our organisation and in wider society.
We understand the value of encouraging and championing diversity among the people involved with our organisation, all of whom bring with them a diversity of thinking, perspective and insight.
It is this diversity and inclusion that will help us to further our core mission of ensuring appropriate resuscitation for all. In 2020, Resuscitation Council UK developed a diversity and inclusion policy. We have committed to a series of actions that will ensure diversity and inclusion is at the forefront of how we operate.
The RCUK board of Trustees have committed to an ambition that by 2025, a quarter of people serving as Trustees – and on the Executive Committee, Subcommittees and Working Groups – should be women, and that by 2030, those in all staff and voluntary roles, and those who engage with our training and services, should reflect the diversity of the wider clinical and care professions and wider public.
RCUK staff are embedding the policy into their work, and ensuring increased diversity and inclusion is at the forefront of our training courses, projects and partnerships for staff across all directorates. Our commitment to improving diversity and inclusion will also be reflected in all job descriptions when hiring new employees.
